General informationen about OLAT

With OLAT, the University of Zurich provides a learning platform that has been developed at the University of Zurich and that is used at several Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences. For more information about OLAT please visit: https://lms.uzh.ch/dmz/

On OLAT you will find courses that have been produced by lecturers. In an OLAT course, learning content can be integrated in the form of different modules, depending on the author's wishes. In addition to the variety of easy-to-use modules, OLAT allows also management of users. OLAT supports various didactic concepts, it offers support for online courses for self-study to video conferences, and in addition to livestreams, it also offers self-tests, e-tests, surveys and the creation of forms.

You can log in to https://lms.uzh.ch/dmz/ using your Switch edu-ID.

FAQ

I have access to OLAT, but no tools to create a course.

You currently only have a user account. This means that you can use courses like a student, but you can't create courses. To do this, you need author's rights. Please send an e-mail tosupport@zi.uzh.ch with a request for author's rights in OLAT.

I don't know if I have author's rights in OLAT. Where can I check this?

Log in under https://lms.uzh.ch/dmz/ . On the home page, click settings in the top bar. The role assigned to you, e.g. author, is indicated under your username. The e-learning coordinator will be happy to advise you on the structure of an OLAT course
